Some good websites with general information about a range of creative careers, plus some really inspiring case studies, include:

Art, Craft & Design - promotes design and advertising, with information on courses, events etc and a sign-up section to keep up with all the latest industry news - London venue with many opportunities to get involved with radio and music production, drama, poetry, TV, sound engineering, photography and visual arts.  Website resources excellent too - the Institute of Engineering Designers site has a list of good courses and careers information - promotes the study of art history and lists events across the UK for anyone contemplating studying the subject - this is the site for the British Association of Art Therapists. Under Careers/Training there is detailed information on art therapy plus suggestions for voluntary work placements prior to training - good for news, job opportunities and links to other associated sites - the Crafts Council hosts a wide range of events and the site lists many competitions as well - the Artists Information Company supports over 22,000 artists. The site is full of news, exhibition information, research and reviews - Chartered Society of Designers site includes details of registered designers plus wide variety of courses in many areas of design - the Fine Art Trade Guild site lists courses and events of interest

Conde Nast College of Fashion and Design run a number of courses ranging from a day to a week and covering areas of fashion including design, journalism and running a business

History - the Historical Association promotes and supports the study of history for all ages.  Website has lots of resources including sections for events, job opportunities and podcasts - find out about the range of career opportunities in museums - if you are considering a career in archives, records management or conservation then check out this website - there is lots of useful information on this website for the budding archaeologist - this webpage from the University of Kent covers skills developed with a history course and occupations associated with a history degree - the British Archaeological Jobs Resource is a gateway to jobs, advice, books, guides and resources for would-be archaeologists - this is a jobsite for museums, galleries, libraries and archives around the world - English Heritage promotes greater understanding of the historic environment - the UK's largest membership organisation promoting conservation of houses, buildings, coast and countryside
